I was speaking of the color on the outside of the rhizome. I have this
unidentified Schreiner's iris with an obvious pale orangey colored skin on
the outside of the rhizome. None of my other TB's have this coloration, so I
was hoping this unique characteristic could be used to help me narrow the
range of possible identities from what I know I ordered from Schreiners last
year. I guess I wasn't really asking about predicting flower color, but was
more interested external TB rhizome color as a characteristic that could be
used to identify a registered unknown.
