A Beardless start

FWIW -

Years ago, Bee Warburton (died Jan '96) told me an interesting way to give
beardless irises a good start... (I've used it ever since with excellent
results)...

Most of our beardless are purchased at local Society Sales/Auctions - so they
travel home wrapped in a paper towel and bagged in large "sandwich" baggies....
(best way to keep them 'til ready for planting or whatever)

She suggested - mixing the normal proportions of liquid fertilizer (like
Miracle Grow ) in a bucket of water and unwrap the plant and put the bare roots
into the bucket and let them SOAK for a couple days.. (I usually look for new
root growth before putting them into the place in the garden bed.... New roots
usually start to develop in a few days..

Worth trying *for those who seems to have trouble getting beardless started....
