Let me relate a tale that was told to me directly by the culprit in question.
A lady came to my garden ostensibly to purchase iris. (She wound up not
buying any -Thank Heaven)
In our discussion about iris in general she related how she had followed a
truck from a major Oregon iris grower late in the season with a load of iris
(discards that were left over stock no longer needed for plant back or for
orders??). What she did was wait until the truck had dumped its load and left
then proceeded to select about 20 - 25 different varieties with their name
tags attached. She took them home and planted them all. The final result was
that although she had selected excellent plants each and every one of them
for one reason or another DIED without ever blooming!!!! It would seem that
ill gotten gains will always come to no good!!!
