I'll be interested in your experience.  I live on pine sand soil and my pH
is very low, probably like yours or lower.  I do have some rot but I hope
the switch to sandier soil takes care of it.  No trouble with them surviving
and blooming nicely tho'.  As an indication of how low, my main weed is
sorrel and  have lots of moss throughout my lawn and gardens.

I haven't used any lime yet, but maybe it's someth8ing I should try.
