It's is interesting that in the poll on 1940's irises, two of the most
popular are luminata pattern irises, i.e. Moonlit Sea and Pretty Pansy. Also
interesting that the superb Siberian MY LOVE made the list. I always vote
for MY LOVE in the poll of modern Siberians conducted by the Society for
Siberian Irises. Somehow, I never think of it as historic...in any case, it
is one of the finest! Clarence Mahan in VA, where it is raining AGAIN!
