Must correct this one, Carolyn...it is the Sourvenir de M. Lemon Award, which
is given for the best bearded iris other than a tall bearded iris, by the
BIS.  Caught you again! You didn't read my article in the 1993 BIS Year Book,
entitled "Who was M. Lemon?"  did you? It hurts me deeply to be such a

P.S. The Lemoine nursery was famous for peonies and lilacs....The Lemon
nursery in Belleville (now part of Paris) was first famous for pelargoniums
and white peonies, and then after 1840 for irises.  Confusing Lemoine and
Lemon is one of the errors in the Kohlein book.
