I can't recall which aggie recommended using cattle ear tag marking pens, but
the pen I bought at the ag coop (the only brand they had - Allflex tag pen,
<$3) writes on wet (at least damp) iris leaves! I love it. I can dig and
label dew-covered or otherwise soggy leaves. The ink only fuzzes slightly
and dries in spite of the moisture.
My only complaint is that on these slick plastic slices of yogurt containers
that I use for plant markers, it takes forever to dry. Not so on the iris
fans.
This list has had so many great ideas!
