You got me pegged - more more more....I'm going to be like the blueberry
child in Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory ...
I have been impressed with the two junk mail order Louisiana iris planted out
in my rock pile garden - they have been pretty sparse bloomers, but must be
able to go dormant when it gets really dry. One is growing out in the fescue
sod and the other is in almost complete summer shade in a dry as dust
gravelly raised bed. I've had them for maybe 10 yrs, didn't realize the one
in the shade was a Louisiana till it bloomed this spring.
I have really been indoctrinated this year - named Japanese, siberian,
Louisianas, all sizes of beardeds, including a bunch of non- reblooming
rebloomers, a few species (from Clarence and Ellie Weikle and some native),
two dead Pacific coast seedlings from Rodney Barton seeds and a double
package of Pacific coast hybrid seeds from Joe Ghio, some Sharon McAllister
arilbred seedlings, a narrow escape from I. pseudacorus, and a partridge in a
pear tree - can I please go back to being obsessed with tall bearded iris
now?
Thanks Steve.
