Greeetings all
Well here in NZ the rain has stopped the sun is shining & best of all my
iris plants are growing well I've only lost 3 to the flood waters (sigh) but
we have the technology to re-order.
Okay why can a name of an iris change from one year to the next????
I bought Freckles TB one year then next year Freckles TB was missing &
Spreckles was in it's place with the same description so have I got Freckles
or Spreckles?
Can some one shed some light on this for me ???
I have read about the registration & discussions re Sweet Lena. I am also
one of those that think that a name is important as it is a way of making a
unique plant readily recognised to all. But on the other hand if you have a
plant that is a mystery & enjoy it don't panic just enjoy someone will
always come along & say "oh you have Madam X" I have had several very old
roses identified this way. Also if you have a tour group or garden ramble
through put up a sign "Help please give me a name?". I've seen this several
times.
OFF the soap box now
Have A nice Day
