Surely there can be no valid objection to off-topic postings or discussions
of any respectable sort provided they are clearly labeled off-topic in the
subject line. Fair warning has been given to those who take their's neat. Nor
should one be surprised and annoyed to find off-topic stuff posted under this
heading. That is what the OT category, or categories, are for, and the
existence of the official category gives implicit permission for the
off-topic posting.
There is a lot to be said for the occasional outburst of spontaneous
merriment, or light fun, or playfulness, or whatever. Or so it seems to me.
