The thread was about whether clorox was acid or base. Latest word was
base. I was just curious about the chemistry of the stuff - what is
clorox made from, what rx takes place when it comes in contact with
organic matter etc - WAY off topic, sort of, though the organic matter
in question was iris rhizomes (Rusty soaks his overnight, I accidentally
soaked some for 2 days recently!), and soft rot. And the rest of the
thread was - what rx takes place when one rinses one's hands in vinegar
after using clorox and whether or not it's a good idea to rinse rhizomes
(as well as hands) in weak acid after a clorox soak.
If clorox has NaCl in it as well as sodium hypochlorite, does that mean
it's had some HCl added or is that a by product of ?
