Well, certainly there have been some messages that were clearly not
relevent to irises. I probably posted some of those. But, I think some
of the issue depends on how you define "relevent to irises". The general
guidelines form the beginning were topics that concerned the gardening
of irises. That probably includes things like the discussions of what
the differences between moles, voles and gophers are and how they might
impact our irises, the use of clorox and how it does what it does,
whether kiddie pools make good containers for JIs (trying to be
politically correct here) and , and, and. Many people who are nuts about
irises even by things with pictures of irises on them. Even though it is
not my thing, I even consider the "Glassware" thread relevent.

There are lots of threads I am not interested in, but others are. Once a
thread develops, I can tell from the subject line whether to delete it
with out bothering to read it or not. The real problem comes to play
when someone changes the subject in the body of the message and does not
change the subject line.

I would ask why you don't pose your questions to the list? The questions
other people ask have provided you information, don't you think your
questions would be of interest to others? Support YOUR list, ask
questions.

IMHO it hasn't been that terrible (and I admit to being one of the
perpetrators) but most of the non-iris mail is either interesting or
emminently "delete-able" with a flick of the finger.
