Thanks for your kind words.
We sort of pigged out (if you'll pardon the pun) at the Santa Fe
Society's iris sale last weekend. Winterland, Lightning Streak, Victoria
Falls, Jazz Festival - you folks certainly have a penchant for names! I
made tags this morning, think I counted 40 or so.
We're going to learn from those and the few we already had. Next summer
I look forward to doing a little serious trading with you all and some
buying.
I've wondered how you determine the names of some of these older iris?
We've collected some from friends, heaven knows their origins and
although we like them, there pretty generic - some beautiful pure
whites, a gorgeous gold/yellow,(all TB's). The glad society gave up long
ago and simply identifies types by color (that's a headache too). I
noticed, for example, in your post that you can trace your iris to 1910.
I find that remarkable!
