The weather here is usually at one extreme or the other. It is rarely
"average." When things are excessively wet, Lexington will often be the
only KY location getting rain at a given time. When things are overly dry,
Lexington will often be the only KY location not getting rain at a given
time. Also, we have "Karst Topography." This means that there are many
caves and sinkholes in the area. Thus, the soil is not water retentive and
drys out rapidly when the rains stop.
