Ross' comment:
"n zone 5 where you live the corms will be marginally winter hardy.
Unpot them when the plants fade, store the corms in a cool airy location
until spring and then replant outdoors. I keep a section of my vege
garden for little fellows like that. They'll need good sun and more
moisture than you give your iris. You should get flowers in two years,"
Thanks, Ross, for the information. I also have G. carophyllaceus from SIGNA
which ought to be coming up soon. I made the mistake last year of tossing the
pot when that one died down in late summer--I figured it had just died. THis
time I'll go looking for the corms (they have to be tiny!).
Barb, outside Santa Fe, off to go watch the Perseids if the clouds cooperate.
