I have heard that Mustard Seed Fungus - once in the ground requires
treatment with TerraChlor? TerraMycin? And is difficult to eradicate.
Experienced advice was to destroy any incoming plants with this disease rather
than risk garden contamination. It appears as a whitish web on the rhizome.
What do people know about this ?

Rusty,
It dosen't sound like your large gray areas are rot, especially if they
are not soft. However it would not hurt to give them a clorox bath.
Give all your incoming iris the bath. I recently received some iris
that were infected with Mustard Seed Fungus. Overnight would be
excessive at your 1 to 8 ratio. 30 minutes would be enough.
