Here in CA we usually plant our rhizomes under the soil due to our hot
sun, the soil just barely covering the rhizome. So you can see that
planting this way I have no need of props, stones, bricks or whatever to
hold the rhizomes up. Just stick them in the soil with the rhizome
covered and they stay that way and will soon be rooted. This works for
me and I do it by the thousands.
This method may not work in all climates.
