Hi.
I am a little surprised to learn that there are others who have taken
umbrage at a few iris names. One I would NEVER gorw in my garden, just
because of the name, is Satin Satan. I also feel a little bit guilty
growing ones such as Witch's Wand, and Witch's Sabbath. Maybe I need to
surround those ones with irises such as Holy Night and Praise The Lord!

And in regards to long iris names, I promised a friend recovering from
cancer that I'd name an iris after her. She has already "won" 3 times,
but the night before last, I found out she has cancer yet again. I WILL
name an iris for her...regardless of how much space the name takes up.
Short names may be nice, but sometimes a longer name means something
more.
