Hi Talkers,
I FINALLY got my copy of the bulletin and it seems that this time there
are quite a number of articles that are VERY interesting to me. One of
the articles was by Don and Ginny Spoon on the subject of "Landscape
Irises". What got my attention was the mention of Dr. Nearpass's
Spinning Wheel and aphylla hybrids being resistant to borers. The
article went on to say that aphylla hybrids that contain more than 1/8
aphylla genes were resistant to borer damage. Living in the Northwest, I
have never seen (nor do I want to) a borer but the article has made me
curious to know if anyone out there in Borer Land has noticed that
Spinning Wheel or aphylla hybrids are less affected by borer damage
Thanks all.....
