Heidi,
You're not weird. The average gardener only vaguely knows the names of
the plants in the garden -- never mind the name of the variety. Unless
they have distinguishing characteristics, iris can be very hard to
identify. Just enjoy them. One characteristic of an iris fanatic is
when your garden gets overtaken by named varieties and you debate how
you are going to keep them well labelled.
