Donald,
Bothe the Symposium and the Cyberspace Pop Poll are "popularity" polls.
I don't grow all the cultivars that I voted for; but, I have visited
many gardens and seen everything that I voted for growing in more than
one garden.  And, given more than 500 square feet of garden I would grow
them all.  I felt like you did last year and when the list was
published, my reaction was why wasn't "x cultivar" on the list.  Perhaps
my vote and the votes of others who didn't send in the symposium ballot
would have made a difference.  I intend to keep track of what I vote for
each year to see if my preferences change.
