I spoke with Dorothy Hall (Earl's wife) on the phone this morning.
She told me that Earl is much improved of late, and is getting around
much better. Then I told her to wish Earl a hearty congratulations
on his award........there was a brief pause before she asked "What
award?". The beans being thus spilled, I had to alert her to the fact
that Earl's 'Little Showoff' has won the Cook-Douglas Medal.
Dorothy was very pleased, and said that she knew Earl would be also.
