This past spring one of my jp's produced a large pod after blooming.
For what-ever reasons that were in my foolish head, I left the pod,
guess I thought it should dry. The other day I was weeding the bed
and decided to cut the pod from the stem. I cracked open the pod and
found healthy seeds.
My questions are:
1. Should I have clipped the pod? Or waited until it eventually
dried on the stem.
2. And now that I have done so, should I remove the seeds from the
pod and dry them out before planting?
3. Would it be better to plant the seeds in a pot rather than
directly in the ground (zone 7)?
This is my first experience with iris seeds and I would really like
to see what results I can get.
Thanks for any suggestions, and tips.
