Re: LA: Valera Chenoweth
From: celia storey <storey@aristotle.net>
I just got the lowdown on EXQUISITE LADY from Sanford Roberts. It was
Archie's cultivar, but she didn't want to mess with introducing it. So
Valera argued with her and argued with her and finally Archie gave it to
her to grow, saying, here, you register it. Joe Mertzweiller saw it in
Valera's garden and said, oh yes, introduce that one. Valera, being a lady,
registered it under Archie's name, of course. But she introduced it,
distributed it and so forth.
Sanford also told me how Valera died after her auto accident, so all my
questions have been answered.
