A couple of weeks ago I mentioned on the list that my son Justin (11) would
be competing in the Junior Olympics, in karate. Several people have
e-mailed me privately asking how he did and I thought to forestall any
additional enquiries, I'd post it on the list.
Justin got the silver medal in kobudo (weapons), and came in 8th of 23 in
kumite (fighting). Though he finished out of the medals in kumite, I was
very pleased because he was the smallest lad in the division at just under
60 lb--some of the other boys were as much as 130 lbs!
Sorry if this is TOO off topic--forgive a proud dad.
