Maybe the genetic engineers are busy making new colors and saying that they will be 'in vogue' for the next years--but Iris colors are the full range of the rainbow--so twill always be 'in vogue'.
Some colors are harder to grow--here the pinks and oranges do not survive as well as the blue and purples, but since so many Irisarians are asking for more hardy Iris to be hybridized, I am confidant that in a few more years there will be pink and orange Iris that are more hardy--
One thing nice about Iris--if you get tired of flowers that are all the same color--selfs--you can get blends of almost all colors, bi-colored, or just about any color pattern which you can think of---
Even the blacks are great--so nice and velvety--maybe persons are busy developing new colors for other varieties of flowers--I'll stay with the Iris--they mostly survive here! Carryl in Western Montana
