I never pull any plant until I know for certain what it is. Last year a
delightful Butterfly Weed (Asclepias tuberosa) popped up, unsolicited in
one of my iris beds. I had never thought of growing this plant but now I
am going to try other in different colors. There is also something,
about 6ft. tall in one of the beds. I'm fairly certain it is a weed but
until I know for certain, I'll let it grow.
This spring I figured I would attack some weeds in the lower part of the
yard. Some of son's lily beds were getting way out of hand.
Unfortunately the weeds were so thick, I pulled up some lillium he had
been waiting several years to see in bloom. I must say he took it quite
well. Tho his jaw did look a bit clenched. And his face looked a bit
pale.
So now I tend to my weeds and ignore the rest. Yes, I know I'll get my
hands on them next year. After the seeds blow int my beds. :)
