i once put tulip bulbs in peat cups, dampened the cups, put them upright in a
plastic bag, tied the neck, put the bag in the frig crisper bin lined with a
blanket. checked once a month for mold or growth. when roots plenteous and
tips poked up, planted cups and all in aquarium 3-4" deep and watered with ice
water or snow. placed in sunny window sill. got tulips for valentine's day.
