Re: HYB: SDB and IB fertility question

From: "Mike Sutton" <suttons@lightspeed.net>

Hi Chad,
We have been working with fertile IBs for a few years now. I don't know the
chromosome count. So far we have some 3/4 TBs and 3/4 SDBs along with the
next generation SDBs (my math isn't that good to figure out the percentage).
We are attempting exactly what you thought, trying to bring TB qualities
down to SDBs. Stinger is technically an IB but you are right it was
introduced based on its height. We have a few babies from it crossed by
some SDBs, nothing good yet but we will keep trying. I believe there is a
gentleman in France who is working on the same lines. He has introduced a
SA SDB this year (OUTRAGE) and a SA MDB (PUNK). I just found his letter,
his name is Lawrence Ransom. We are going to get a few of these and see how
they do, at the moment he only sells in France.
Mike
