Hi Celia--
I can answer that particular question very easily. 1994 was one of the
last years that Bernice Miller did any introducing and somehow she
didn't get the plants registered then, but she did list them in her
catalog and sell them as introductions.
A couple of years ago, we came into a large amount of stock of 3 of
those Miller 94's (Sister Miriam Sings, Priscilla of Corinth, My Friend
Jonathan and another that we no longer grow and the name escapes me
right now--something like Cloudcaps over Galilee??).
We wanted to list them in our catalog so we checked the R&I's and
couldn't find any information, we then contacted the AIS Registrar Keith
Keppel to find out the story. Keith said they were never officially
registered. So Keith and I worked with Bernice and I filled out the
paperwork, paid the fee, and got the names registered for Bernice. She
was in poor health at the time and I was glad to help her out with what
may have been her last intros.
That's the story of how THOSE particluar iris were introduced before
they were registered.
