Dennis,
The one that immediately springs to mind is Black Gamecock. It is of
course a very dark purple, but then again so are the black TBs (or dark red
or dark blue). Black Gamecock when it bloomed for me was a wonderfully
velvety purple black. Definitely what I would call a "Black" not a purple.
If you can develop a black cristata I'd love one. Cristatas are one of my
favourite irises. I noticed someone else offered you a dark form..... does
anyone know if it seeds true to form or is it only vegetatively propagated?
Either way I'd be interested in some seeds from the Cristata dark form if
it sets seed (that way I can get it into the country).
