Nice iris Merle! Do you have photo's of either, or both of it's parents?
Is their really that much yellow at the hafts or is that an illusion
caused by the camera lens?
Does anyone know if this spot pattern, that appears in Victoria Falls
offspring, is part of the plicata series or involves a different allele?
What would be the benefit of crossing the fertile medians with the
pumilla spot, with plicatas, or with iris showing the above pattern? I
would have thought that the pumilla spot was genetically different from
either of the above. I was also of the opinion that the Pumilla patern
is a dominant trait. The iris Barry Blyth's crosses came from were Zing
Me (fertile median with spot) crossed with each of the following: Knight
Templar, Imprimis sib, Divine,
Divine has white beards and what is described as a white 'blaze' and is
from Mystique breeding. The others are bicolours. Zing Me comes from
Bi-colour X dwarf lines.
Would love to hear some more discussion on this topic.
Cheers, Jan Clark
