Toni: Welcome to iris-talk. I'm sure you'll like it,and also sure that you'll learn a great deal. Another iris fan(atic) is always welcome. One thing you need to do is identify where you live, because answers to the questions always depend on that information. What I might tell you would make very little sense if you are in a very different climate zone. If you let us know your home area, it might well be that there's another person on the list who lives reasonably close, in which case you get accurate answers. If you can create a signature line like I have below, one that prints automatically every time, we'll always know. It helps to include your USDA zone, too, if you know it.
