Re: Fragrance and Iris Genetics

Hi

I can' t answer your question because I was looking for the same thing a while back, but
would iris genetics for fragrance follow the same lines as genetics for fragrance in other
flowers ? Sorry, if this is a stupid question I don't know very much about genetics at all.

Thanks

Subject: [iris-talk] Fragrance and Iris Genetics

The Cayeux Web site lists fragrances for each variety of iris in
their catalogue. Page 414 of The World of Iris mentions that
Fragrance is not genreally considered a positive attibute of irises
and that virtually nothing in the way of genetics of these substances
has been done. Is anyone aware of studies that might have been done
regarding the genetics of fragrance in Irises?
