For what it's worth, I think that the more natural light that can be let in,
the better. Glass-topped malls and high-windowed gymnasiums come to mind.
But sometimes, a lot can be achieved by just opening all the blinds!
On the other hand, I have judged a show in a mall that had large skylights. Many iris on the side of the room getting direct sunlight wilted before judging, and those on the other side were spared.
Things are not quite as simple as we might wish. Also, there often are not many choices available, especially with many malls filling their hallways with carts to try to increase their income.
