HYB: Deformed seedlings

Thank you for all the comments about my disastrous cross of Pond Lily X
Celebration Song.  I have been persuaded to try the cross again.
Unfortunately I can't do it next year because my Celebration Song
bloomed out in 2002.  I do have it reordered, but I planned to grow it
at the cabin where I'm sure it will do well.  I don't know anyone who
has been able to grow it for very long in this valley of the red-hot
sun.  
 
I use 2/3 Earthgrow potting mix and 1/3 silt and mix them together in a
wheelbarrow with water, like cement.  (I really enjoyed that joke.)
Then I fill my pots all at the same time.  I don't see how one could get
contaminated and not the others.  It is a mystery.  As soon as possible
I'll work on it.
 
Right now I'm watching some interesting crosses coming up, Appleblossom
Days X Happenstance, Appleblossom Days X Twice Thrilling, Pond Lily X
Happenstance, Happenstance X Role Model, etc.
