From this and John's example (ignoring case), in order to get all
instances where clarence occurs in a pedigree,  I would need to ask for
(clarence x) OR (x clarence)
right?

The OR's and AND's in the search have to be captalized, right?

<Yes.  The search will pick up the "Clarence x" in "(Clarence x
poobah)", or
                   anywhere else it occurs.  Griff>
