Linda's fantasy depiction helps with the color. I'm not normally
fond of browns, but this would be excellent, especially the velvety
texture. Of course adding the rim is a good plan as long as we're
dreaming.
I know that BROAD SHOULDERS doesn't have red beards but being a sib
to FIERY TEMPER,it should have the potential there. It may help
with the velvety texture too. So I'd try that and maybe YES as a
yellow amoena with a red tangerine beard too. I think you're right
about COFFEE WHISPERS and I can see BRAGGADOCIO too. Maybe try
COPATONIC in there too, though that might be a set back for the red
beards.
I'm going to have to pay more attention to texture this spring. I
like velvety falls a lot, but only remember seeing it on a very few
where that was a particularly outstanding feature. I had never seen
TWIST of FATE until this May, and what struck me about that one was
the extreme contrast in texture between the satiny standards and the
velvety falls.
We need a list of irises with really velvety falls to toss around.
