This is what is in the MIS publication Medianite (in the mail):
Come to the Northwest following the AIS National convention in Fresno and
join us for a Median Convention in the Portland-Salem area! Dates are April
28-29th. This allows time to travel from Fresno, (and for the garden hosts to
return from the convention as well!)
Headquarters will be the Monarch Hotel, in Clackamas, Oregon, the same hotel
as used for the Median Convention in 1996. Rates will be $79.00, plus tax, for
single or double occupancy. For reservations call (503) 652-1515, or toll
free 1-800-492-8700.
There will be a welcome dinner Tuesday, April 27th, followed by bus tours of
gardens on Wednesday and Thursday. Awards Banquet and iris auction are
scheduled for Thursday evening.
Gardens on tour will include Aitkenbs Salmon Creek Garden (Terry & Barbara
Aitken), Jim & Vicki Craig, Keith Keppel, Mid-America Gardens (Paul Black and
Tom Johnson), , Mountain View Iris Gardens (John & Kay Ludi), Mt. Pleasant
Iris
Farm (Chad Harris), Schreinerbs Gardens, and Wildwood Gardens (Will & Tracy
Plotner). In addition to the guest irises on display, most of these gardens
will
have other large median plantings, including seedlings for future
introduction, so there will be lots to see.
Registration should be close to $100.00, and will include two dinners, two
lunches and your two days of bus tours. So be sure to check the AIS Bulletin
for
January, 2004, and the Spring Medianite for final registration information.
