Hi Laurie. . .Doris here. . (remember her???) Girl. . .sounds to me like
you've got "grey" aphids! Some of my Arils and Arilbreds that were potted up were
absolutely COVERED with the damn things. Seems like I looked the other way for
3-4 days and I was literally invaded by them. Since I don't eat iris, I used
Rotonone (sp). Repeated it twice at 7 day intervals. Grey Aphids are the bane
of a gardeners existance down here in El Paso. My broccoli was so infested I
burned the entire crop. . . NOTHING, I repeat, NOTHING I did to deter them
worked enough to make the crop edible.
