At shows we frequently have to (try to) identify a cv from the registration description.
'Tain't easy. For me, this is by far the most painful part of judging.


So, instead of "a" picture, how about pix from three different locations in each region
(preferably a couple different soil types at each), taken at low Sun, high Sun, and
full shade, by five different digital cameras and three different films, with the latter
scanned on at least two different scanners. Then, for viewing, a few PC's
(and Mac's) with different CRT's and LCD displays....


I think this comes out to millions of images to look at, with the end result: "I dunno, maybe."

John's warnings are valid and important to keep in mind, but I still like the idea of
registration pictures (one per cv), logistical nightmare though it may be. This issue
will need a lot of discussion! If not implemented properly, it could lead to a lot of
extra work with no real benefit.
