Re: OT:Winter

Betty -- Your words remind me of a day when a friend of mine and I hunted
on the morning after an ice storm. Everything was sheathed in ice, and even
the weeds bending under its weight looked like crystal art forms. The red
Virginia earth stood in miniature palisades that crunched under our boots.
We moved into a stand of dense young firs, and the sunlight refracting from
the ice-coated needles glistened and sparkled with a spectrum of colors, so
that it felt as if we were hunting in a grove of Christmas trees. As you
said, sheer elegance! -- Griff
