Thank you all for posting your opinions on companion plants. I think it was
particularly good to hear that the phlox got out of hand because I had
planned
to use this as a border for one of the beds. Maybe that's not such a good
idea. The rock idea was interesting, too. I use seashells here in
borders--they
are pretty, free, and plentiful here at the beach, and they keep down weeds
nicely.
I plant portulaca every year in containers. I might try it as a border plant
this year.
