Of course not! Now which box did I put that book in? The big thick
dictionary type book I bought to study for the GRE?? Hadn't thought of that thing
since I graduated in 1997. And seriously don't know where I've stored the
book. I never throw books away, even the useless ones.

ONLY 18 additional hours of English Lit classes for my masters in writing?
Plus the Masters program? Why do I need to read to be a writer, rather than
write to be a writer? I've read all my life but it doesn't count! <sigh>

But Loci? That is something else! Might as well be Greek. Oh, I know
the definition of loci. I now understand many of the terms. I even understand
what most of them mean. I understand double doses, precursors, modifiers,
etc. I also understand recessive and dominant. In some cases, I can tell
which qualities/genetics an iris has, but in other cases I can't. In some
cases, I've learned how to guess pretty well. I understand most of the
concepts but some how it scrambles when I try to talk about it.

In some cases you can tell what an iris had by it's children, but you can't
tell what it will produce BEFORE the cross!

Then we take it on to gamete, the pl, the alleles? These are the terms that
seem to confuse me.

I think it's time that "genetics for dummies" reappears as a project?? Yes,
I was working on such a project a couple of years ago, just for personal
use, but I got distracted after about two pages!

Quote from pg 394 of TWOI . . . "The iris hybridizer has been able to
capitalize upon the variability of tetraploids to create the spectacular tall
bearded garden varieties. This variation, however, occurs at the expense of
PREDICTABLE genetic behavior!" <sigh>

My copy of TWOI looks strange with all the multi-colored sticky notes
flagging the pages! They all look like angry little children, just trying to
escape! But I understand more now than I did 10 years ago!

<sigh> I get tired just thinking about it.

Random questions for random ideas??

Do some of the BAD qualities come as a condition of other good qualities?
Are they locked in? Will rebloom always bunch in the top during bad years?

Robin, (or anyone) if I keep throwing all types of rebloom together? Won't
most of them stick?? As I up the rebloom dosage I seem to get more rebloom
children per cross.
