Oh, I was making a joke! It is so hard to convey nuance in email.
Frustrating, sometimes. Things get off the rails.
I remembered another thing I've heard folks say about why they don't like
irises in the autumn: The colors are all wrong. Meaning, I suppose, that
pastels and such don't "go" with the autumn foliage. This, of course, is hooey.
