Discussion about LUMIERE D'AUTOMNE and SOLANO got my curiosity going - looked up NEW MOON and was impressed by how many different hybridizers used it. There are 167 registered TBs from her in the online database, 51 of those introduced by Ghio (some from Maryott), 13 by Hamner, 10 by Weiler, 7 by Schreiners, 7 by Spahn, and the remainder by 47 different hybridizers!
She must have either had remarkable improvements in some traits that people wanted or ridiculously fertile. Most likely some of both.
Has anybody put together a searchable/sortable database for where various hybridizers were breeding & selecting their introductions? It would help in evaluating pedigrees for potential climate tolerance.
