Strange. The Imp of the Perverse must have taken up residence in the system
again.

If you want to send it to me here, I will take a whack at forwarding it for
you.

I am just messing around while the brunswick stew--no, there are no
squirrels in it, Griff --heats up. After a day baking for my geriatric relatives and
select friends, I am about sugared out, daddio. Soup and a nice salad will be
just the ticket.

You were making appreciative noises about Clarence's book, right? It is so
very important to do that--LOUD APPRECIATIVE NOISES-- when someone one knows
writes a book. I do think when a friend writes a book one should also buy it.

For anyone who is new to this topic, a past president of AIS, Clarence
Mahan, late of this list, has written a book on iris history which has just been
released. Griff apparently wants to say interesting things about it. I have to
be discreet, myself, since I helped Clarence with several chapters.

The last I heard there will be an ad in the January Bulletin from which
folks can order from the Storefront. I'd say if someone was interested they
should move right smartly on that, and not put off ordering until later. You
seriously DO NOT want to miss out on the opportunity to get this book at the hefty
discount AIS has wangled for you, and it is quite probably a limited time
deal.

Cordially,

Anner Whitehead, &c
