Looks like some of the discussion about MELODRAMA may not have been on the list after all - nothing specific in the archives that I could find other than a post from Sharon McAllister saying it was from PROGENITOR.
The World of Iris (TWOI) has a little more about it - Paul Cook crossed PROGENITOR & SHINING WATERS, then one of those seedlings with a blue seedling, then one of those with DREAMCASTLE to get MELODRAMA. i.e. (maybe), ((PROGENITOR x SHINING WATERS) x Cook sdlg) X DREAMCASTLE
So it looks like it's not as closely related to WHOLE CLOTH as I thought I remembered...

<Does anyone know the parentage of Paul Cook's 'Melodrama' (1956)? The
parentage does not appear in the R&I or on irisregister.com. There might be some information in AIS Bulletins 218 (1974) page 30 and 219 (1975) page 33. My Bulletins are in storage. Any help appreciate.
