Preferential rebloomers get primed after their five month growing condition. then will rebloom next season almost anytime, based on there priming and maturity. Even if sent to a new climate, for the next year will show that effect. No longer will do that after not getting the five months after bud set.
Soa condition related to long growing season. Need that to continue this performance. Cover this before and someone gave an example of their PV rebloomer blooming in a colder climate the next yea ( ofter during the year) , but not again.
Sorry needs the five months (around that number) before getting the bloom.
Secondary characteristics will include number of leaves to maturity and bud set temperature and duration of bud set temperatures. (ie five days as versus 6) . Very little variation in growth time after bud set. Give or take a week, but I would think that is about it. Absolutely not months. And doubt very very much if even two weeks.

Or was confused about something else ;-) Also was reminded about the secondary rebloom genes while re-reading some of the previous discussions here. I am guessing secondary rebloom genes have to do with upper and lower temperature requirements for bud set and stalk initiation, growth, and one you don't think can vary much - the inner clock for time from maturity/bud set to stalk initiation in "CA/Oz" type rebloomers. Reading pedigrees of Zurbrigg, Byers, Betty's and other introductions, except for maybe some of the really old rebloom introductions, there seems to be quite a bit of infusion of CA/Oz type rebloom 'blood', including a few of the ones that have exclusively been reported to rebloom in zone 9 CA. Margie's rebloom lines that primarily rebloom 6 weeks after what I assume is maturity and bud set (i.e., mature, bud set, then immediately begin stalk initiation) makes me think that the CA/OZ type genes might sometimes have a 'clock' that doesn't take 5 months. I'm not saying there wasn't selection for a 5 month clock in species origins, but why can't the genes for that 'rest' time be broken? Or aren't switched on when temperature and growth are in the rebloom goldilocks zone.As you say, growing conditions outside the home place are unlikely to be
the same, but but but...
