The thing I appreciate the most about Japanese Irises is that
their flowers don't resemble carved wax or plastic. Rigid
guidelines aren't a good idea in my opinion. If something really
'works' that falls outside guidelines it should not be penalized.
I would say the same about all irises. Many stunning droopy
flowered TB's must have been composted along the way to
achieving 'the' ideal form.
